RimfireCBMF No Exceptions (GLB Bell Pepper x CBMF winning Touch) is a very special Morgan. A five-year-old bay gelding, "Rimfire" was the top prize in a national essay contest. Young Nicholas Feld entered the youth essay contest hosted by the Berkshire Morgan Horse Youth Club in 2006. Writing about "Why I Want To Win A Morgan Horse," Nicholas worked very hard on an essay that detailed his love for Rusty, the then 27-year-old Morgan who took Nicholas for long rides. The essay went on to discuss what the horse-lover would do with a new, young Morgan. A few months later, Nicholas was absolutely thrilled when he received a phone call telling him he'd won the contest and was now the proud owner of a beautiful Morgan. We are so grateful to the Berkshire Morgan Youth Club for sponsoring this yearly contest and we'd like to extend a special thanks to Ann Hailey of Copper Beach Morgan Farm for donating such a wonderful horse. Rimfire is an incredibly sweet, gentle horse who is happiest when given attention, a gentle pat, or a horse cookie. He likes everybody but has a special affection for his "boy." When he sees Nicholas coming, he flags his tail, screams, and goes running to Nicholas. Rimfire stars in the sixth book in the Morgan Horse series, appearing as Rimfire: The Barrel Racing Morgan Horse. Although the book portrays Rimfire as a barrel racer, he is actually in training as a saddleseat classic pleasure horse. The last few pictures show his debut in the ring at the UPHA Spring Premier Horse Show, held in April, 2010. Rimfire won his first class, the novice classic pleasure class, and then returned for the Jr. Ex. Classic Pleasure Championship. Rimmy won the championship, placing above two World Champions!
